Galaxy phones use a USB-C port that collects lint and can wear loose over time. Samsung also shows a moisture detected warning when it senses water or dirt in the port, and that warning can stay on long after the phone is dry if the port is corroded.

On many Galaxy models the port sits on a small charging board that can be replaced without touching the main board. That keeps the job simpler. We clean the port first when that is enough, and replace it when the pins are bent, burnt or worn.

Common questions

Why does my Galaxy say moisture detected when it is dry?

Lint, residue or corrosion in the USB-C port can trigger the warning. Sometimes a cleaning fixes it. If the pins are corroded, the port needs to be replaced. We check which it is before any work starts.

How long does a Samsung charging port repair take?

A cleaning is quick. Replacing the charging board on popular models is often done while you wait. Some models need the part ordered, and we let you know the time up front.

Will I lose my data?

No. We do not erase data for normal repairs, and a port repair does not touch your storage. If the phone still charges a little, back it up to Samsung Cloud or Google before the visit.

Can I use wireless charging instead?

Wireless charging is a good short-term workaround if your Galaxy supports it. A bad port can still get worse, though, and you also lose wired data and the fastest charging. It is worth having it checked.
